Bridging Generations: Project Big Brother Takes the Stage at LSGH

The latest JJ Malixi’s Project Big Brother (JJPBB) session, held on January 23, 2026, is set to be remembered as one of the year’s most inspiring highlights. The LSGH Alumni Association (LSGHAA), in partnership with the Student Affairs Central Body (SACB), once again brought this vital mentorship program to life with a fresh and contemporary approach.

Breaking away from traditional presentations, the session adopted an engaging podcast-style format at the Brother Donato Center for Performing Arts. The talk was expertly moderated by JJPBB Chairman Dir. Joey Recio III (Batch ’91) and SACB Representative Sophia Pastoral, creating a dynamic atmosphere for our Grade 11 students.

Insights from the Podium

Six distinguished alumni returned to their alma mater to share their journeys through top-tier universities, both in the Philippines and abroad. The conversation delved deep into the “freshman experience,” offering a transparent look at the transition from high school to higher education.

During the interactive Q&A segment, students sought advice on choosing the right path and navigating university life. Most importantly, the speakers shared how they continue to carry the Lasallian Values ingrained in them at LSGH into their professional careers and personal lives.

We extend our deepest gratitude to our Big Brothers for their time and service:

Mr. Louie Reyes
(Batch 1990)

Mr. Migo Samia
(Batch 2000)

Mr. JJ Abad Santos
(Batch 2000)

Atty. Leo Camacho
(Batch 2008)

Dr. Jeremy Civil
(Batch 2016)

Mr. Luis Vargas
(Batch 2019)

We would like to also thank Our LSGHAA Spiritual Committee Director Francisco Eugenio “Bong” Africa of LSGH Batch 1979 (Silverde) for also giving meaningful insights to our students and speakers.

A Shared Mission

This successful endeavor was made possible through the dedicated coordination of Mr. Mark Gilbert Rehoy and Mr. Arvin Macahiya of the SACB, as well as Ms. Rubi Vasco of the Grade 11 LC.

Thank you for your commitment to our future alumni.

It’s Your Turn to Give Back!

The journey doesn’t end here. We invite our fellow alumni to become a Big Brother or Big Sister in our next JJPBB session.

Help the next generation move forward with confidence and purpose.
